It is located about 10 minutes walk away from Yufuin Station. We are best known for our original seasonal dishes, which are carefully prepared by our owner, who has years of training and experience as a professional chef. In particular, our chef’s carefully handpicked meat and Ōita prefecture super-fresh fish are delicacies you won’t find anywhere else.

At Yamadaya you can enjoy lavish, colorful original kaiseki ryōri (traditional Japanese meal brought in courses) made with abundant seasonal foods and impeccable skill right in your room (or the dining hall if you prefer). We have eight hot springs (two inside, four outside, and two family baths) and rooms with indoor and outdoor baths, giving our guests ample opportunity to sample and enjoy our springs.

Our family baths can be used for any time of day or night, and can be locked from the inside to ensure a safe and private bathing environment. Whether you prefer to enjoy the view of Mount Yufu or our garden, we are certain you will find many situations with which to enjoy our springs.

Our springs are alkalescent simple hot springs. They have plenty of hot water, so we maintain the springs’ heat and freshness by using the hot water flowing directly from the hot spring source. With the springs’ gentle, soothing properties, your skin will become smoother, your body will be warmed to its core, and your circulation will be improved. Our springs can even help you scrub off excess keratin from your skin, which has made them a big hit with our female customers.

Rooms
When you arrive, you can change into yukata, a kind of light informal kimono made for relaxing. For our female customers, we have a range of different colored yukata for you to choose from. Male customers will get to wear our original Yamadaya yukata.

•Bathing
You are free to use the baths as much as you like.

•Dinner
Dinner comprised of seasonal kaiseki ryori will be served either in your room or in the dining hall, depending on your wish. It consists of over 10 dishes, which are served one at a time in the order specified on the menu, and lasts for about an hour and a half.

•Sleeping
Our staff will prepare your futons for you

You are free to make use of the baths in the morning as well. The outdoor garden bath opens at 7:00AM, and the other baths can be used upon request.

•Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the dining hall.
